Happy day after the Super Bowl everyone. I heard that the game was pretty darn good. After our emails last Monday, we attended the weekly Family Home Evening at Bishop Taccone's home. We had a great lesson on faith, and then ate a good amount of food. Sister Taccone is a professional caterer and has been doing so for 20 years. Veronica was there as well, and she continues to make new friends and progress in the Gospel. On Tuesday, we had some great meetings. I was in the meeting of an elder who is pretty new on his mission, and he is now a district leader. He did a fine job, and it was great afterward to talk with him on how he can make it even better. I have been in his shoes and wish to give him advice I wish I got when I got started. Hopefully, a little improvement will come this week. Then we sat at the library for a while waiting to confirm all of the numbers that go into the system. We have to make sure everything is right, and if it is not, we have to correct it. Fun, fun. In the evening we had a lesson with Veronica with Chaz there. We talked about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and when we hit the part about the Holy Ghost, Chaz went crazy. He has such a great passion for the Lord and really realized what a great gift that the Holy Ghost is. If given by proper authority, the Holy Ghost, a member of the Godhead, can be with you as a companion forever!! Veronica really liked that point and looks forward to that day.

On Wednesday, Veronica had her baptismal interview with our District leader Elder Williams. The interview is a chance for an individual to witness to a representative of Jesus Christ that he/she has a testimony of the Gospel and is ready for baptism. Veronica passed with flying colors. We had another lesson with her on Thursday where we talked about temples and families. She loves this as well. She really loves every principal of the Gospel. It's awesome. She is going to be baptized this Saturday, the 11th!!! Awesome! The rest of Wednesday and Thursday we got to learning about the Los Serroanos area where we now serve. We have been down there trying by people that have been taught in the past, walking around, and visiting members. Overall, we have made some great progress that will really help us this week get a lot done.

Friday, we did our weekly planning session and at about hour 2.5, we began going crazy. So, we made a Snowy Village run. I've said it, and I'll say it again. I miss the other two elders we lived with. It's too dang quiet now. But, Elder Ludwig and I are making a good go of it. We are really good friends, so it is still a great time. Later in the day, we met with Chaz for a bit at Chick-fil-a then went to try and teach some people. We ran into Billy, a really sweet older lady. She hasn't been to church in a while, but she told us she wants to come soon and bring her grandson with her. So, that was a really cool visit. Then we got into the home of the Tolmans. We shared a great lesson about keeping the commandments with them from a scripture out of the Book of Mormon. Saturday was a lot of driving and trying to visit people but with no luck. We know our way around now though which is great. While driving around we caught a glimpse of a glorious vehicle, a pristine Lamborghini Huracan (a gorgeous picture is below). Goodness was it beautiful. Elder Ludwig and I both love cars, so we did what anyone who loves cars would do, we followed it. We found it's home and began walking up the driveway. Now, being in Chino Hills for a while, I have learned something. Either people with ridiculous cars love to talk about them and show them off, or they are a Tasmanian Devil and order you off the property. So, that thought was going through our minds. The owner got out of the car and when he saw us standing there drooling, he was just great. He let us see the inside, take pictures and talked with us for a while. Manu was his name. Later that evening we went to Cheyenne's for her mission farewell party. She leaves Wednesday for Idaho. She was inactive a year ago, and now she is going on a mission- really amazing.

Church on Sunday was great. We got to meet a lot of people in the new ward, and they seem really awesome. Then we had to jet off to the YSA ward. Veronica was there, Kimberley was there out of the blue, and Chincha was there with her cousin, Yader. It was wonderful. There are some great things happening in our little YSA. Now I sit here, already 2 hours into our p-day. The new schedule is pretty darn awesome!!! Love you all so much!!! Oh, and today at Target when we shopped, we saw a Rolls Royce Phantom in the parking lot (another beautiful picture follows), you know only a paltry $500,000 for that bad boy.

This week, we look forward to a bunch of really great service. We've been working at a place called, Let it Be, and we will be there a lot this week. Plus, we are starting work at a thrift shop and will be helping with an English class as well. Should be fun!

Scripture of the week is from Alma, chapter 36, verse 30, "But behold, my son, this is not all; for ye ought to know as I do know, that inasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall prosper in the land; and ye ought to know also, that inasmuch as ye will not keep the commandments of God ye shall be cut off from his presence. Now this is according to his word."

If I could sum up the Book of Mormon in one verse, that is the verse I would probably choose.

Love, Elder Thelander
